DO YOU RECOGNISE YOURSELF?

1991/1992

The earlier posting of a group photograph from the 2nd global conference in 1991 has excited some memory cells. The photo below, taken in front of the Veterinary Faculty building, shows a group from the meeting in Cordoba the following year to celebrate the quincentennial of the voyage to America of Christopher Columbus. The group contains nine current or former Directors/Trustees of RBI, and several other eminent personalities from the ‘rare breeds’ movement.

Twenty years ago RBI was recognised and registered officially as an NGO with charitable objectives. Its status was confirmed in 1991 at the 2nd global conference in Budapest hosted by Imre Bodo, a Trustee of RBI. The conference included technical tours and the photograph shows a group of delegates during a break for lunch on one of the tours.
