Hands-On The Pure Beauty of the New Salmon Dial Patek Philippe 5320G Perpetual
An extremely elegant, refined and vintage-inspired QP, now with a salmon-coloured dial. high quality replica watches
Some watches are more special than others... The fact that we are talking about a perpetual calendar made by Patek Philippe is already the first clue. The fact that it's a salmon-dial watch with a white metal case only adds to that specificity...yes, but what really makes the 5320G perpetual calendar special, whether it's this new salmon version or the recently discontinued one The cream version, all designed for its inspiration and overall retro elegance. This timepiece was a surprise when it first launched in 2017, with a new rose gold-tone opalescent dial that brings an even more desirable dimension to the watch. This is live broadcast.
A watch inspired by multiple historical models As we recently explained in our articles on the Almanac Travel Time 5326G and the Green Paint 5270P, Patek Philippe has changed. It has mostly evolved in terms of design, and the watch meets the expectations of a new, younger clientele who crave more edgy, more casual designs and colors. In my book, the watch that really marked the transition from typical Patek Philippe classicism to a new generation (Thierry Stern's) was the 2015 Calatrava Pilot Travel Time 5524G. This highly controversial watch will make a big splash when it's presented... From designs seen in the classic past, we're here to enter a new generation of watches with vintage inspiration and bolder designs.
Although much less controversial than the Calatrava Pilot, for me, the 5320G Perpetual Calendar is the second best replica watches uk that truly marks the evolution of Patek Philippe's watch design and overall mission. Here again, the vintage references are clear, and this watch aims to be a new step in the history of the brand's QP. More casual and more user-friendly than the time-honored classic models 3940 or 5140 - round watch, refined case and traditional display. Introduced in 2017, the 5320G (with a cream dial for the first time) played a different trend. It's still extremely refined and elegant, but it's not as elegant as it used to be. Like in menswear, where a three-piece grey flannel suit is replaced by a pair of well-cut jeans with a tailored tweed jacket and a pair of refined Italian loafers, the 5320G brings a more relaxed elegance. More in line with current expectations and lifestyles.
Behind the design and display of the 5320G Perpetual are actually 3 different historical Patek Philippe models. One for the display, one for the dial style and overall inspiration, and one for the shape of the case/lugs. As mentioned earlier, Patek Philippe does create vintage style watches these days, but not really faithfully replicating the past, and almost never uses one particular model as a source. First, the 5320G's display is a tribute to the Reference 1526, Patek Philippe's first mass-produced perpetual calendar watch. Introduced in 1942, it also stands out for its neatly streamlined display with two apertures for the day and month, as well as a subdial for the day and moon - the same thing you can find on the 5320G.
Then there's the style inspiration, which is again based on the historic Patek Philippe watch, the unique reference 1591, which forgoes the military-style dial with luminous markers and hands. A unique stainless steel perpetual calendar, a watch not known to literature and the market until it was first sold at auction in 1996, owned by a maharaja who occasionally wore this sturdy timepiece while playing polo. Featuring a water-resistant stainless steel case and central seconds hand, this unique timepiece presents a specific luminous dial, lacquered Arabic numerals and blue syringe hands filled with luminous material. It is here that Patek Philippe may have found inspiration for the 5230G dial.Richard Mille RM 67-02 Charles Leclerc Prototype
Finally, an important element of the design of this watch is the lugs, again, they do not appear suddenly, but are based on the case of the Patek Philippe reference 2405, a simple three-hand watch from the 1940s, but with a very Special art deco style case with gdroons and tertiary claw lugs.
New Salmon Patek Philippe 5320G As we report in this article, we expect the cream 5320G to be discontinued this year. We've somehow regretted this watch until the 2022 edition of Watches and Wonders and the reveal of two new salmon-colored watches; the 5172G Chronograph and now the 5320G Perpetual Calendar - mind you, these two watches are already closely related , the case and dial design are the same, but until now the colors were very different (blue and cream). Both are now available in salmon and are truly interrelated.
The 5320G's overall recipe now features salmon, which hasn't changed much from the previous cream version. This is of course just a dial animation, but it does have some appeal. So the specs and most of the design features have been retained, don't think of this new 5320G-011 as a second-generation model. The dial, hour markers, display and case are all identical.
The beauty of the Patek Philippe 5320G Perpetual Calendar comes first and foremost from its beautifully shaped case. Measuring a reasonable 40mm in diameter and 11.13mm in height, it's still made of 18k white gold and fully polished. In particular, the case is stamped rather than milled—a process usually reserved for lower-end watches, but the complex shape of the lugs and the need to obtain ultra-sharp facets requires the use of stamping. And since Patek Philippe doesn't weld the lugs to the case, that's the only way to get these amazing tertiary lugs. The polished finish is flawless again and to an impressive level.Greubel Forsey Replica watches
Overall, the case has pure, undeniable sophistication and elegance, a truly captivating, discreet original, but not in a traditional way. As I've explained, it's more casual, less strict, and less formal, which makes this watch something special. If I have one complaint, it's the strap. The quality itself is not to be blamed. But compared to the rest of the watch, the sleek brown alligator strap feels a little dated. But there's nothing bad here, the straps can be easily replaced.
The big news this year is the addition of a salmon-colored dial to the Patek Philippe 5320G Perpetual Calendar as an alternative to the cream-colored dial we know from 2017 to 2022. As mentioned, nothing has changed, this military inspiration is still present in the luminous Arabic numerals and syringe hands - although I know Patek Philippe doesn't like the name, these are definitely syringe hands. All are made from 18k gold and then painted with anthracite for contrast. The display also remains the same, this simple, streamlined perpetual calendar consists of a date/moon subdial at 6 o'clock, two week and month windows at 12 o'clock and two small circular day windows at the end - the night indicator and leap years.https://www.moon-watch.co
Then there is this rather unique salmon shade. There are many ways to get a salmon color, the most classic is to use a rose gold coating on the dial. But depending on the finishing of the base dial, this can result in a very different watch. Take our Montre de Souscription 1, for example, with its galvanized rose gold tub and brushed dial. Then compare to this Salmon 5320G, which also uses a rose gold finish...but with a creamy finish on a smooth texture. Thanks to this rare treatment, the dial of this new model is very unique, with very muted colors. But equally attractive. It's different, but really very Patek Philippe.
The movement inside the case is the same as before, based on an automatic Calibre 324 with a centrally mounted rotor - used in various simple Calatravas, Nautilus 5711 in the past, Aquanaut and as an annual calendar or for the 5496. The movement is equipped with the brand's own technologies, such as the Gyromax balance wheel and the Spiromax balance spring, and is certified by the Patek Philippe Seal. The decor is pleasant, even if it may lack a bit of luxury and warmth. Lastly, its 35-45 hours of power reserve feels a little out of date compared to the competition. But since it's automatic, the question is almost forgivable.replica watches for sale
